Easing Demand On Hospitals
We are opening up 5 new GP-led Priority Primary Care Centres to make sure that everyone can access the care that they need!

If you have a condition that requires urgent attention but not a emergency response, these centres will be open to provide you care seven days a week 16 hours a day.

On The Ground Treatment
Paramedics regularly transfer patients with serious, but not life-threatening conditions to hospitals.

By 2026, 25 new Paramedic Practitioners will be on the ground to diagnose and treat in the field, make clinical decisions, and take pressure off our busy emergency departments.

Nursing And Midwifery Free To Study
$16,500 Scholarships Available
To help boost our healthcare system, more than 17, 000 nurses and midwives will be recruited and trained.

All new domestic students enrolling in 2023 and 2024 will receive grants of up to $16,500 to cover course costs.

Scholarships for postgraduate students are also available to complete studies in specialty areas including intensive care, pediatrics and cancer care.

Affirmative Consent Model Is Now Law
Better Protections For Victim-Survivors
There's no room for sexual violence in Victoria. 

That's why we've introduced the Justice Legislation Amendment to adopt an affirmative consent model to shift scrutiny to perpetrators.

The reforms also clarify that removal, non-use or tampering with a condom without consent is now a crime.

New Animal Care And Protection Laws
Plan Released For Feedback
A plan for our new animal care and protection laws has been released for public feedback!

Feedback will inform the development of draft legislation for a new Act to replace the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1986.

Extension Of Funding
Neighbourhood Houses have been supported by the Labor govt with an additional $19 million funding over the next 3 years. 

Neighbourhood Houses will also transition to on going funding to provide certainty for those working in the sector and support the important work they do.

Regenerating Ten Thousand MCGs Of Habitat
Planting Millions Of Trees
The Andrew's Labor Govt has announced $31 million is being invested to help plant millions of trees, revegetate and deliver unique habitats for wildlife!

We will be partnering with Cassinia Environmental to help private landholders to revegetate parcels of land and is expected to capture 3.5 million tonnes of carbon.

Victoria Smahes Emissions Targets
Emissions Down 30%

The latest figures show Victoria beat its emissions reduction target in 2020, with our emissions down 30 per cent on 2005 levels - meaning our Government is on the way to halving emissions by 2030.

Through nation-first initiatives such as offshore wind targets and renewable energy storage targets, we’re moving towards a clean energy economy and net zero emissions by 2050.

Get Active Kids Voucher Program
New Round Open Until 30th November
The latest round of the Andrews Labor Government's Get Active Kids Voucher Program is now open.
 
Eligible Victorians can now apply for a $200 Get Active Kids voucher online which can then be redeemed at a registered provider – such as a local sporting club or organisation – or claim reimbursement for expenses incurred.
 
Applications for this round will close at 5pm on 30 November.

The Puffing Billy Railway has just been awarded the Best New International Architecture for 2022! 

Designed by TERRIOR Architects, the Lakeside Visitor Centre has drawn people to the heart of the Dandenong ranges, celebrating the wonderful history of the railway while including high tech function spaces and fantastic local produce.
