Member for Tarneit Sarah Connolly has officially launched a campaign to continue the Andrews Labor Government’s strong record on delivering bus services for outer suburbs, in support of new bus routes to service new and developing estates in Tarneit and Truganina.
Newer estates in growth suburbs like Allura and Westbrook along Dohertys Road in Truganina, and The Grove and Habitat on Davis Road in Tarneit, require public transport to better access local services like Tarneit Station.
The Andrews Labor Government is already delivering up to 500 extra parking spaces at Tarneit Station alongside the $1.8 billion Western Roads upgrade taking pressure off local roads and improving the commute to Melbourne by road and rail.
New bus routes would continue that work - reducing congestion, freeing up parking spaces and provide an accessible commute from Tarneit and Truganina.
Last year, the Labor Government provided a massive boost to Wyndham’s existing bus network – with additional services on a number of bus routes, including seven extra services on Route 167, one of the longest and busiest bus routes in the Tarneit area.
Victorian buses are receiving extra cleaning and sanitising during the pandemic to ensure they are safe to take passengers on essential journeys – with wiping of high-touch areas, handrails and grab straps on each bus frequently each day.
Passengers are reminded to practice good hygiene when travelling, maximise distance between passengers where possible, avoid travelling if unwell – and those who can work from home must continue to do so.
