CONNECTING TARNEIT NORTH TO BUS SERVICES FOR THE FIRST TIME

25 October 2022

Tarneit North residents will soon have access to on demand public transport, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government’s new FlexiRide bus service connecting locals to schools, shops and other transport options.

Member for Tarneit Sarah Connolly said many Tarneit North locals will have access to a bus for the first time thanks to the service, keeping them connected to the local community and giving them more options to get where they need to go.

FlexiRide services do not have a fixed route, with passengers able to book a seat via the designated FlexiRide app or over the phone. They will then be directed to their closest bus stop to be picked up and transported to dedicated bus hubs.

New FlexiRide buses now service six bus hubs around Tarneit, including Tarneit Station, Tarneit Central Shopping Centre, and four schools. There are many virtual stops on the network, where passengers are given a location over the app or over the phone where they will be picked up from.

Customers can choose to go from a virtual stop to a hub, from a hub to a virtual stop, or from a hub to a hub.
FlexiRide users can touch on and off with their myki cards and will be charged normal myki fares.

FlexiRide Tarneit North operates between 6am and 9.30pm weekdays, between 7am and 9.30pm Saturdays and public holidays and between 8am and 9.30pm on Sundays, Good Friday and Christmas Day.

Passengers can also change to trains and other bus services via the hub at Tarneit Station.

These services add to benefits from two new bus routes that began last year. Route 152 Tarneit Station - Williams Landing Station via Palmers Road and Route 182 Werribee Station - Tarneit Station via Tarneit West are connecting locals to work, school and other locations, such as Werribee Town Centre.

The service commenced on October 23.

For information visit ptv.vic.gov.au/flexiride. You can now book a ride on a FlexiRide bus on the FlexiRide app or by calling 1300 209 425, and payment can be made by touching on your myki card.
