Students at Tarneit Rise Primary School and Truganina P-9 College will both soon receive new state-of-the-art, double-storey relocatable classrooms to meet growing student enrolments.
Member for Tarneit Sarah Connolly today announced the modern double-storey relocatable buildings would offer flexibility to manage enrolment growth ahead of 2021.
As part of this allocation, Tarneit Rise Primary School will receive two relocatable buildings. Truganina P-9 College will receive four relocatable buildings These are in addition to the two sets of relocatable classrooms that both schools received last year.
The relocatable buildings include double-glazed windows, improved thermal insulation to reduce heat loss, acoustic insulation to reduce internal noise reverberation, and are built to an energy efficient design.
The Victorian Government is investing $114.5 million to deliver modern relocatable school buildings to schools across the state. This will provide an additional 12,775 spaces for Victorian students for the 2021 school year ensuring all students can access to a great local government school.
It is anticipated the 2020-21 Relocatable Building Program will create more than 200 jobs in manufacturing and related industries.
This investment forms part of the more than $1.18 billion investment in education infrastructure projects that will create thousands of jobs across the state and kickstart Victorias economy.
