Kids and kids at heart can look forward to ramping up the fun at Sunshine West’s newest playspace and outdoor court, thanks to support from the Allan Labor Government.

Member for Laverton Sarah Connolly today joined Brimbank City Mayor, Cr Ranka Rasic and the local community to officially open the new Noble Court Reserve facilities, made possible by a $225,000 investment from the Victorian Government’s Local Sport Infrastructure Fund.

With more and more families moving into the western suburbs, the new areas feature a combination of sport and play elements catering for all ages and abilities.

A swing set, climbing frames, sandplay unit and nature play elements make up the new play equipment that’s complemented by nearby seating, barbecue, landscaping, and paths.

Upgrades also delivered three new outdoor fitness stations, installation of a new multi-use court marked for basketball; with soccer, netball and cricket play opportunities.

Together they make for a perfect spot for the community to come together to play, get fit, stay active or re-energise. 

The Victorian Budget 2023/24 is providing more than $213 million to deliver and improve community sports infrastructure and support initiatives that boost participation and inclusion in local sport. The funding is part of $1.9 billion invested in community sport and recreation infrastructure over the past decade.

From new playspaces to sports pavilions, investments like these provide high-quality and accessible facilities that allow Victorians to reap the benefits of sport and active recreation participation.

They are also about creating jobs, stimulating local economies and improving the health, wellbeing, and social outcomes for Victorian communities.

Sarah Connolly MP acknowledged the Brimbank City Council for its $595,000 contribution.
