Several grassroots sport and active recreation organisations in Laverton District are set to bolster their coaching skills, administration expertise, or score new sports equipment thanks to the Victorian Government.
The grants provide clubs up to $1,000 for new uniforms and equipment, up to $2,000 for training coaches, officials and volunteers, and up to $5,000 to improve club operational effectiveness.
- Truganina Tennis Club scored $842.50 to kickstart the new club with equipment.
- Western Suburbs Soccer Club scored $2,000.00 for soccer coaching courses and skill development.
- Sunshine Football Club scored $4,998.00 for planning workshops to increase Junior participation.
The Program is part of the Victorian Government’s commitment to make community sport more accessible and inclusive, stimulate local economies, build sustainable sport and recreation and volunteer opportunities, and increase local participation.
Since 2015, the Sporting Club Grants Program has invested more than $15.5 million to support clubs and their volunteers across the state, in positive and trying times.
