Tarneit passengers will have another option to get into Melbourne on Saturdays with an extra service to be permanently added to the timetable.
Member for Tarneit Sarah Connolly said from December a Saturday morning service that has previously run as a special event train will be added to the timetable.
The service will depart Geelong at 10.16am stopping all stations except Ardeer and arrive at Southern Cross at 11.20am.
Tarneit passengers will also see other minor changes to the timetable to improve and give passengers more certainty in planning their journey.
Shift workers and people heading home from a night out using the Werribee line will be able to access Southern Cross Station earlier on Sunday mornings.
Passengers told us they wanted to access the station earlier so they can transfer more easily between Night Network and train services.
Previously trains on these lines ran express through to Flinders St early on Sunday mornings.
Timetables will be available at ptv.vic.gov.au before the changes are introduced.
