NEW EARLY LEARNING CENTRE FOR TRUGANINA FAMILIES

10 February 2020

Families with young children in Truganina can now access the quality local kindergarten programs they need, with the opening of the new Mainview Boulevard Family Learning Centre (previously known as Truganina East New Early Learning Centre).

Member for Tarneit Sarah Connolly, today visited the Mainview Boulevard site to officially open the new $6,390,000 centre.

It will provide families access to an additional 99 kindergarten places.

The Andrews Labor Government provided Wyndham City Council $2,430,000 towards the new centre through grants from the Children’s Facilities Capital Program, and the Growing Suburbs Fund.

The state’s biggest early education build will continue over the coming years, with almost 1,000 new and upgraded kinders to come.

The Labor Government will invest more than $1.6 billion over the next decade to build approximately 785 new kinders and expand 170 existing services.

The is part of a $5 billion plan to ensure every Victorian child has access to at least five hours of subsidised three-year-old kinder by 2022, progressively scaled up to 15 hours per week over the next decade.

This will be the largest social, economic and educational reform ever undertaken in early childhood learning in Victoria’s history.
