A new hub for family services in fast-growing Tarneit North is on the way thanks to funding from the Andrews
Labor Government.
Member for Tarneit Sarah Connolly, representing Minister for Local Government Shaun Leane, today turned the
first sod for the new Tarneit North Integrated Family Centre.
When complete, the centre will provide families with access to high quality kindergarten, maternal child health
and other family services.
The centre is part of the Tarneit North Community Precinct Masterplan, which will deliver a large reserve, sports
facilities and playground for the rapidly developing suburb.
The project received $2.5 million from the Victorian Governments 2020-21 Growing Suburbs Fund, which
supports the creation of community connections, enhanced services, and provides greater opportunities at a local
level.
The Victorian Government has contributed an additional $2.5 million from the Department of Education and
Trainings 2020-21 Building Blocks Capacity grant program which helps kindergartens increase capacity to create
more places, improve the quality of the learning environment, increase inclusivity and invest in technology.
The $26.4 million Tarneit North Community Precinct Masterplan will be delivered by the Wyndham City Council,
which has contributed $11.3 million funding from council towards the project with an additional $10 million
contributed from developers.
Since 2015, the Growing Suburbs Fund has invested more than $27.5 million into the Wyndham City Council for
the delivery of 20 projects.
