NEW SCHOOL GETS ITS FIRST PRINCIPAL

The foundation principal has been appointed to lead the new Truganina South East Primary School (interim name), which is set to open in 2021 and provide more student places for local families. 

Member for Tarneit, Sarah Connolly MP, today announced Natalie Nelson will lead Truganina South East Primary School (interim name) as it prepares to open its doors to its first students in 2021. 

Natalie Nelson has a passion for creating vibrant communities where students excel and parents feel connected to the school. Prior to commencing at Truganina South East Primary School (interim name), she was principal at Ashburton Primary School and is currently principal at Altona Primary School.   

A Meet the Principal event will be held later this year, giving local families an opportunity to meet the principal. Over the coming months, new principals will work with the local community, students and parents to build a school for the area that embodies excellence and opportunity for learners.  

To establish the school with strong foundations, new principals will appoint talented and committed staff and build relationships with families and the community. They will also work closely with the architects and builders to provide the right environment for students to achieve their best. 

Truganina South East Primary School (interim name) is among 14 new schools to open in 2021. When complete, Truganina South East Primary School (interim name) will include two learning neighbourhoods, an administration building, outdoor play courts, a performing arts and physical education building, and a sports field.  

Under the Labor Government’s school building boom, a total of 100 new schools will open by 2026, ensuring every child can access a great local school where students can achieve their best.  

The Labor Government is building the Education State so that every student can access a great local school and get a great education.
