NEW TARNEIT PRIMARY SCHOOLS GETTING OFF THE GROUND

Families in Melbourne’s growing western suburbs are a step closer to having an exciting new school close to home with construction underway on Tarneit Missen House Primary School (interim name) and Riverdale East Primary School (interim name).

Riverdale East Primary School (interim name)

Located at 455 Bethany Road, Tarneit – Riverdale East Primary School will have space for 525 local students when the school opens on day one of Term 1, 2023. Enrolments will be open for students in Prep to Grade 6.

Riverdale East Primary School will include:

  • An administration building with a library, staff offices and amenities.
  • Two learning neighbourhood buildings with general purpose classrooms, and flexible and collaborative teaching spaces.
  • A specialist learning neighbourhood for subjects such as food technology and science.
  • A community hub with a competition-grade gymnasium, canteen, music and drama space.
  • Two outdoor hardcourts, a sports field, and a bike shed.

Tarneit Missen House Primary School (interim name)

Located at 85 Polly Parade, Tarneit - Tarneit Missen House Primary School will have space for 525 local students when the school opens on day one of Term 1, 2023. Enrolments will be open for students in Prep to Grade 6.

Tarneit Missen House Primary School will include:

  • An administration building with a library, staff offices and amenities.
  • Two learning neighbourhood buildings with general purpose classrooms, and flexible and collaborative teaching spaces.
  • A specialist learning neighbourhood for subjects such as food technology and science.
  • A community hub with a competition-grade gymnasium, canteen, music and drama space.
  • Two outdoor hardcourts and a sports field.
  • Co-located campus with 50 places for students with a disability.

These new schools will help meet the needs of the local growing population by providing a great education for students close to home.

Over the past seven years, the Victorian Government has invested more than $10.9 billion in building new schools and more than 1,700 school upgrades, creating around 13,500 jobs in construction and associated industries.

It is ahead of schedule in its commitment to open 100 new schools by 2026, with 62 schools opening between 2019 and 2024.

The Victorian Government is building the Education State so that every student can receive a great education in their local area.
