Current and aspiring school principals have a unique opportunity to lead a brand-new school and establish a new culture from the ground up, with applications now open for principal positions at the Andrews Labor Government’s new schools set to open in 2023.
While this year’s new schools are preparing to open their doors next week, Member for Tarneit Sarah Connolly today announced applications for dedicated educators to lead the opening of Riverdale East Primary School and Tarneit Missen house Primary School, two of 12 new schools the Labor Government will open in 2023.
The new schools, currently known by their interim names, are:
- Camms Road Primary School
- Hayes Hill Primary School
- Holyoake Parade Primary School
- Lollypop Creek Primary School
- Merrifield West Secondary School
- Mount Ridley Special School
- Officer Rix Road Primary School
- Riverdale East Primary School
- Rockbank Murray Road Primary School
- Tarneit Missen House Primary School
- Wollert East Secondary School
- Wollert West Primary School
To establish the school with strong foundations, the new principals will appoint talented staff as soon as possible to build relationships with families and the new school communities, as well as working closely with architects and builders to provide the right environment for students to achieve their best.
Prospective principals can apply through the Department of Education and Training’s Recruitment Online portal.
The Labor Government is building the Education State so that every student has the opportunity to access a great local school and a quality education.
In 2022, 14 new schools will open across the state as part of the Government’s work to build 100 new schools between 2019 and 2026, delivering a quality education for students in the state’s fastest-growing areas.
