UPGRADED PLAYGROUND FOR SUNSHINE HARVESTER PRIMARY SCHOOL

19 September 2025

The Allan Labor Government is making sure every Victorian student gets a great education close to home by investing in new and improved facilities.

The Member for Laverton today visited Sunshine Harvester Primary School to officially open its new inclusive learning space.

The playground will give children of all abilities new ways to socialise, develop and learn through play.

The official opening of the learning space marks a significant milestone for the school, enhancing its inclusivity and giving all students access to modern and new facilities.

The Labor Government provided $189,675 from the Inclusive Schools Fund in 2023 to construct the playground.

This fund was set up to provide schools with new facilities such as outdoor sensory gardens and learning areas, specialist play and recreation equipment and adapting indoor learning spaces to be more inclusive. The fund has supported over 420 projects over nine rounds.

The Capital Works Fund and Minor Capital Works Fund have replaced the Inclusive Schools Fund and are supporting building projects to improve the learning environment, condition or character of schools.

The Government is investing record funding in our schools to make Victoria the Education State.

In the past 11 years, the Victorian Government has invested $18.5 billion in building new schools and more than 2,300 school upgrades − supporting more than 30,000 jobs in construction and associated industries.
