My adjournment is for the Minister for Small Business, and the action I seek is that the minister join me for an introductory meeting with the new fantastic executive team at Committee for Wyndham. As the minister knows, Committee for Wyndham is one of the peak advocacy bodies for small businesses in the Wyndham local government area, including my electorate of Laverton. Quite recently I had the pleasure of meeting their new CEO Leanne Down, and I have to say I was thoroughly impressed by her passionate advocacy for our local community. It is clear that the committee is taking a new focus on newer parts of Wyndham and is keen to engage with folks and businesses in newer suburbs like Truganina and Williams Landing. I was very pleased to hear that they have reached out to and are working with our new local business associations, Tarneit Business Association and Truganina Business Association, both of which I have had the privilege of working alongside and helping to set up during my time in this place. It is clear to me that we are very much on the same page about working towards what is best for our shared community in the Laverton electorate. That is why I think it would be absolutely fantastic for the minister to join me in sitting down with Leanne and her new team to discuss how our government can better support local businesses in Wyndham.
